DHAKA — In a direct move to protect the firm’s decades-long reputation, Barrister Tareque Akbar Khondakar, Deputy Managing Director of REGENT, issued a formal media statement to national news channels clarifying the company’s absolute independence from the controversial “Regent Hospital” entity.
During the interview, Barrister Tareque emphasized that REGENT is a legacy organization that began its journey in 1981, built on a foundation of transparency and trust. He noted that all REGENT sister concerns are properly registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies & Firms (RJSC) and have operated with a clean record for over 40 years.
Barrister Tareque pointed out that the fraudulent entity, associated with the “Regent Hospital” in Uttara and its chairman, Shahed, has no connection to the authentic Regent Design & Development Ltd (RDDL) or its affiliates. He highlighted several instances of blatant identity theft, including:
• Digital Misrepresentation: The unauthorized use of REGENT’s established sister concern names on the fraudster’s website.
• Geographic Distinctions: Clarifying that the authentic REGENT is headquartered in Banani, whereas the fraudulent group operated primarily out of Uttara.
• Misleading Social Media Claims: Most notably, Barrister Tareque referenced a Facebook post where the fraudster posed at REGENT’s prime project site on Marine Drive, Inani, Cox’s Bazar, falsely claiming it as his own.
“Surely, if there was no ill-intention, why would he have written ‘Project Visit’ while standing on someone else’s land?” — Barrister Tareque Akbar Khondakar, Deputy Managing Director, REGENT
Through this statement, REGENT reaffirms its commitment to its clients and partners, ensuring that the brand remains a symbol of reliability and architectural excellence in Bangladesh, untainted by the actions of external bad actors.
